Patriots Scratch and Claw to 6-5 Win

Both teams had their chances, but the Boston Patriots eventually prevailed at The Tank.
The Patriots had to overcome a fine performance from Panama City pitcher Luis Flores to grab a 6-5 win at The Tank. Flores went 6 innings and allowed 1 earned run. The winner was Eugene Clarkston, who threw 124 pitches over 8 innings. The left-hander was charged with 5 runs on 5 hits.
Terry Armstrong had a clutch at-bat with one out in the top of the eighth for the Patriots. Coming up with the bases loaded and Boston trailing 5-4, he hit a 2-run single.
"It wasn't our best performance," said Armstrong, "but a win in this league is nothing to sniff at."
Boston improves to 3-2 as they look to defend their championship.
