Athletic Club KC Get One-Run Win at Boston
|
Fans brought energy and enthusiasm to the Boston Patriots home opener. Bruce Wright started for the home team against Bill Oulton for the Athletic Club KC. The Patriots were unable to reward the home crowd with a win. The final score was 7-2, Athletic Club KC. Bill Oulton was named player of the game.
Pedro Vázquez aided the Athletic Club KC cause with a run-scoring walk in the top of the fifth. For the game, the right fielder went 2-4 with a double and a walk, while scoring 2 times.
"We were in it," said Boston manager Tyler Carter. "We just didn't score enough runs."
