Thunder Hawks Raise Rally Flag, Beat Virginia Beach, 2-1
Fans of the Ft. Polk South Thunder Hawks who packed the stands for the home opener were rewarded with a Ft. Polk South win over the visiting Virginia Beach Deuces, 2-1. Jim Unknown started for the home team against Gabriel Herrera. Gabriel Herrera earned the coveted player of the game honors. Júlio Palácios got credit for the win, improving to 1-0. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1.1 innings. The save went to Bernardino Neagle, his 1st this season.

Ft. Polk South took a 2-1 lead on Rob Morse's 2nd hit of the season. The 2-run single, which Morse hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Virginia Beach pitcher Enrique Castillo shaking his head.

"Our guys are never satisfied," said Ft. Polk South manager Howard Martínez.
