Belugas Rally For Late Win Over Battlekings
The Brinkley Belugas beat the Naperville Battlekings, 7-4, at Constellation Ballpark. The win was largely due to the efforts of center fielder Noel King, who captured player of the game honors. He was 3-3 with 3 singles and a walk, while scoring 2 runs. Brinkley reliever Alonso Cruz picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. Sixto Palaeios was saddled with the loss. Naperville now has a 12-game losing streak.

Arnold Giroux had the most critical at-bat for Brinkley, coming in the top of the ninth inning with no one out and the bases loaded. Giroux hit a first pitch curveball from Sixto Palaeios for a 2-run single. It put Brinkley in front, 6-4.

"Everyone's kind of edgy right now," said losing manager Bobby Robinson. "It's nothing a couple of wins wouldn't cure."
