Supernovas Pin 4-2 Loss on Buzz
|
Salt Lake City center fielder Vicente Cruz had a terrific game. He was 4 for 4 with 4 singles, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Scranton beat the Buzz, 4-2. Cruz was named the player of the game despite the loss. Scranton reliever Nate Rogers got the win, raising his record to 4-0. Ben Hopley was tagged with the loss. At 49-43, Scranton is in 4th place in the Menard's AAA.
In the bottom of the 4th, Scranton took the lead on a bases-clearing double by Keith MacKey. At the time, the Supernovas were trailing 2-1, but MacKey's hit with two outs against Salt Lake City pitcher Ben Hopley put them in front, 4-2.
"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Scranton Supernovas manager Henry Russell.
