The Bloomington Longnecks did just enough to sneak past the Hialeah Dodos, 6-2, at Dodos Ballpark. Bloomington pitcher Giovanni Mireles earned player of the game honors. The win puts the Longnecks at 58-31, while the Dodos drop to 42-47.
Bubba Blevins contributed an important at-bat in the top of the fourth. With the bases loaded, he hit a sacrifice fly. It was one at-bat that helped send Bloomington to the win.
Hialeah manager Tom Hollingsworth said he was "mildly disappointed" with the loss. "We had our opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them," he said.
