Port Royal beat Scranton, 7-6. The win in part was due to shortstop Nelson Abbey, who nabbed player of the game honors. He went 1-2 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. Juan Carlos Herrera got the save, his 11th in 12 chances. Port Royal is now 42-39, Scranton 43-38.

Richard Hicks's hit in the top of the tenth was a game-changer. With one out, he rapped a cutter from Pedro Garza for a run-scoring single. It put Port Royal in front, 7-6.

"This game tested our mettle," said Hicks.
