Though he had a great game, Shawn Hicks could not single-handedly produce a win for Brinkley. Sioux Falls won the game, 3-2. Hicks was named the player of the game. He was 2 for 3 with a home run and was hit by a pitch. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Jim Unknown was credited with the save for Sioux Falls, his 1st of the season. The 11th-place Red Pandas now have a win-loss record of 31-47.
Ralph McKnight contributed a productive at-bat in the bottom of the fifth. With runners on 2nd and 3rd, he hit a sacrifice fly. It was one at-bat that propelled Sioux Falls to the win.
McKnight said the team appreciates the support from the fans. "I'm glad we could reward them with a good win," he said after the game.
