Belugas Come Up Short at Alaskan
|
The Alaskan Humpbacks had to overcome a big game from Brinkley center fielder Steve Jones to leave Sea World with a 7-6 victory. Jones went 1-2 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 5 runs and scored once. Alaskan occupies 6th place in the Menard's AAA at 26-29.
Alaskan took the lead in the bottom of the seventh. With two out and the bases loaded, Ron Howard stroked a 2-run single to make it 7-5, Humpbacks.
In comments to the Alaskan Times, Howard admitted that he doesn't always push himself. "But the results," he said, "speak for themselves."
