The Hialeah Dodos beat the Hamilton Coyotes, 11-2, at Dodos Ballpark. The Dodos got a fine performance from third baseman Luis Manuel Flores, who captured player of the game honors. He was 3-4 with a home run and a double. He scored 3 runs and drove in 5. Lucas Begay got the win, improving to 4-3. He pitched 8.2 innings, giving up 3 hits and 2 runs, while striking out 6 and walking 1. Hialeah is now 21-25, Hamilton 22-24.

Caracas, Venezuela-born Alfonso Núñez came through in the clutch. In the bottom of the second, with the bases loaded and the Dodos trailing 1-0, he hit a 2-run single to center to put Hialeah on top.

"Getting a lot of baserunners and getting some timely hits, it's a good combination," said Núñez.
