Battlekings Need Extra Frames to Get Past Buzz
The Naperville Battlekings bested the Salt Lake City Buzz, 7-5, at Spirits Stadium. Lupo Cotto was named player of the game. He was 3 for 5 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. Naperville reliever Jorge Vázquez picked up the win, upping his record to 3-3. Rick Kennedy was saddled with the loss. Sixto Palaeios closed it out for his 2nd save.

The most critical at-bat came in the top of the tenth inning. With one out, Jay Hood hit a 2-1 fastball from Rick Kennedy for a run-scoring double. It put Naperville in front, 6-5.

"You know, at the end of the day, it's about who scores the most runs," said Naperville manager Bobby Robinson.
