Victory Over Red Pandas Takes Bloomington to 19-11
|
Bloomington Longnecks starter Jim Unknown turned in a top-notch performance against the Sioux Falls Red Pandas at The Bamboo Forest. The result was a win for the Longnecks, 7-2. Unknown was the winning pitcher and moves to 1-0. He threw 8 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 3 and giving up 3 walks. Sioux Falls has now lost 4 straight.
It could have been a different outcome for Bloomington, had it not been for José Ruíz, the 20-year old center fielder . Ruíz contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the second inning to put Bloomington up, 2-0.
Ruíz attributed the win to "a well-rounded effort by the whole team."
