Belugas Stick Battlekings with 3-2 Loss
|
Dan Crowder pitched well, but the Naperville Battlekings still lost the game, falling 3-2 to the Brinkley Belugas at Belugas Ballpark. Brinkley reliever Dan McBride picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. Dan Crowder took the loss. Ramón García closed the game out for Brinkley, earning his 2nd save.
Mario Nieves's at-bat in the bottom of the third was significant for the Belugas. Coming to the plate with a runner on 3rd and Brinkley leading 2-0, the first baseman grounded out, driving in 1 run.
"We put some tough at-bats on some tough pitches," said Brinkley manager Melvin Baldwin.
The Belugas, with just their 6th win in 20 games, have played uninspired baseball so far.
