Tight Tilt Goes to Belugas, 3-2
|
Brinkley Belugas starter Chae-seong Kim turned in an exceptional performance against the Naperville Battlekings at Belugas Ballpark, resulting in a Brinkley win, 3-2. Kim, now 1-2, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 5, walking 5, and allowing 1 earned run. Jim Unknown got the save, the 1st for him this season.
Tied up with the Battlekings in the bottom of the sixth, the Belugas got a boost from designated hitter Natale Langushi. With runners on 1st and 3rd, Langushi saw a first pitch fastball from Gordon Neugebauer and hit a run-scoring single to break the stalemate and put Brinkley on top, 2-1.
Kim told the media after that game that the mood in the clubhouse is "extremely positive" after a win like that.
The Belugas, with just their 5th win so far in 2026, have yet to catch fire.
