Bright Delivers Walk-Off Win for Buzz
José Martínez did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Port Royal Disaster from losing, 11-10, to the Salt Lake City Buzz at Spirits Stadium. Martínez was 2 for 3 with a double and 3 walks, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3. Salt Lake City reliever Jim Unknown picked up the win to move to 1-0. Kevin Samuels suffered the loss. With the win, Salt Lake City elevates its record to 12-7.

Raymond Bright was the walk-off hero for Salt Lake City. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth, the Salt Lake City pinch hitter hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
