Supernovas Cut Down Dodos, 8-7
|
The Scranton Supernovas defeated the Hialeah Dodos, 8-7, at Nuclear Stadium. Scranton right fielder Francisco Ortega was named player of the game for his superb performance. He was 3 for 5 with 3 doubles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Pedro Garza closed the door for Scranton, picking up his 4th save of the year. With the loss, Hialeah drops to 11-8.
Scranton took a 8-6 lead on Ortega's 8th double of the season. The 2-run double, which he hit off Lindsay Novak in the bottom of the seventh, propelled Scranton to the win.
In postgame comments to the Scranton Gazette, Ortega said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
