D.C. pitcher Leslie Brooks did his part in helping his team beat the Detroit Renaissance, 6-2. The left-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. The Divided have stumbled out of the gate, getting only their 1st win in 3 games.

Mike Gardner didn't waste any time giving his team the lead. His first time up in the top of the first, he cranked a 2-run home run to put D.C. on top, 2-0.

In comments to the D.C. Herald, Gardner insisted that he's not as disinterested as it often appears. "Haters will hate," he added.
