The Brinkley Belugas picked up a win at Dodos Ballpark, knocking off the Hialeah Dodos, 3-2. Starting pitcher Chae-seong Kim, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason why. Brinkley reliever Jim Unknown was credited with the win, to go to 1-0. Santiago Maes took the loss for Hialeah. Ramón García earned the save, his 1st.
The most important at-bat for Brinkley came in the top of the ninth inning. With no one out, Eric Porter reached on an error by the 2B, driving in 1 run, putting Brinkley up, 3-2.
"There are no moral victories," said losing manager Tom Hollingsworth.
The Brinkley Belugas, now 4-9, have not found much traction so far in 2026.
