Red Pandas Go Down to Defeat, 8-6
|
The Bloomington Longnecks topped the Sioux Falls Red Pandas, 8-6, with Bubba Blevins playing a big role. Blevins went 4 for 5 with 4 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Longnecks in the win. The winner was Jesús Medina, who threw 95 pitches over 5.1 innings. The left-hander was charged with 4 runs on 7 hits. Del Lamb was called on to finish, recording his 2nd save.
Shang-de Zhang drew 1 walk in 4 trips to the plate for Bloomington. In the bottom of the third, with the teams deadlocked, 3-3, Zhang delivered for the Longnecks. His run-scoring ground out put Bloomington on top, 4-3.
"Nothing is scripted in this game," said Blevins.
The win pushes Bloomington to a record of 7-5.
