Coyotes Defeat Red Pandas, 7-3
|
Fans who came to Coyote Wildlife Refuge watched the Hamilton Coyotes and the Sioux Falls Red Pandas fight to the finish.
Hamilton Coyotes starter José Zavala pitched a strong game against the Sioux Falls Red Pandas at Coyote Wildlife Refuge, leading the Coyotes to a 7-3 win. Zavala got the win, improving to 1-1. He allowed 7 hits and walked 2 over 7.1 innings. Zavala allowed 3 earned runs.
A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. In the bottom of the second, with the game tied, Ralph May was at the plate when Hamilton scored 1 on an error. The miscue enabled the Coyotes to go in front, 1-0.
"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," May told the Hamilton Bulletin.
The win lifts Hamilton to a record of 4-4.
