Pandas Lose to Flamingos, 8-2

The Las Vegas Flamingos turned back the Montana Pandas, 8-2, at The Strip. Pepe Castroneves was named player of the game for his fine performance. He went 3 for 3 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 3 times. Cris Herrera, who went 7.2 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 2 runs on 7 hits, while walking 2 and striking out 10. His record now stands at 4-2. The 4th-place Flamingos raised their record to 19-14.
The Las Vegas win was a team effort. It included major contributions from, among others, Xavier Hernández. In the bottom of the second, the Las Vegas second baseman came to bat and hit a run-scoring double. It staked his team to a 1-0 lead.
"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," Castroneves told reporters after the game.
