Oaks Stun Patriots, 3-1
|
The Oaks grabbed a 3-1 win at Dunkin Donuts Park, overcoming a fine effort from Boston pitcher Jorge Aguirre. Aguirre went 7.2 innings and allowed no earned runs. The winner was José García, who threw 100 pitches over 8 innings. The right-hander was charged with 1 run on 6 hits. José Caballero finished the game for Oakland and earned his 7th save.
Todd Henry's hit in the top of the ninth was a game-changer. With one out, he rapped a fastball from Robinson Gonzáles for a 2-run home run. It put Oakland in front, 3-1.
"If you want to be considered a good team, these are the kind of games you have to win," said Oakland manager DAshley GoAs.
Oakland has 3 straight wins, Boston 4 straight losses.
