The Portland Evergreens knocked off the Las Vegas Flamingos, 7-3. Portland starter Antonio Godfrey pitched well enough to earn top player honors. Godfrey went the distance for Portland. He gave up 3 runs on 7 hits. Portland now owns a record of 7-16.

The Evergreens beat the Flamingos in part due to timely hitting. Case in point: the single Roland Deschain produced in the bottom of the fifth. Batting against Las Vegas pitcher David Collingwood, he gave his team a 3-2 lead when he hit a run-scoring single.

"If I go out there and help the team win, that's all you can do," said Godfrey.
