McKinney Stars in Flamingos Win
The Las Vegas Flamingos defeated the Chicago Hawks, 10-4, at The Strip. Las Vegas first baseman Chris McKinney was named player of the game for his superb performance. He was 3 for 4 with 2 home runs and a walk. He scored 3 runs and drove in 4. The Hawks, at 5-13, have stumbled out of the gate.

McKinney contributed a big hit, a 2-run home run, for Las Vegas in the bottom of the first. With his team trailing 1-0, McKinney took a fastball from Horace McKenzie and stroked the home run to right-center. His 7th home run of the season allowed the Flamingos to leap in front, 2-1.

"The name of the game is scoring runs," McKinney said. "We did a pretty good job of that today."
