Dodgers Walk It Off for 10th Win of Season
|
In a low-scoring contest between the Brooklyn Dodgers and the Portland Evergreens, pitcher John Kaufman was excellent. The Brooklyn right-hander was named the player of the game in Brooklyn's 2-1 win. Brooklyn reliever Folkert van Huizen picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Antonio Godfrey was saddled with the loss. The Evergreens fall to 4-8 and continue their lackluster start in 2026.
One significant at-bat for Brooklyn came with the bases empty in the bottom of the ninth. The hitter, Thom Wilcox, hit a single, which helped the Dodgers go on to win.
Wilcox told the Brooklyn Citizen: "We've got guys willing to do what it takes to win."
