The Montana Pandas picked up a win at Evergreen Park, knocking off the Portland Evergreens, 6-1. On the mound for Montana was right-hander Richard Sykes, who played a pivotal role in the win. The Montana Pandas, now 6-3, have been playing some good baseball.
Also contributing to the win was first baseman Mario Cruz, who stroked a double in the top of the third for Montana. For the game, Cruz went 1-3 with a double and a walk.
"It's easier to pitch when you get run support," said Sykes.
