Legion Lose to Dodgers in Walk Off
|
Dodgers left fielder Avon Barksdale put his stamp on his team's 5-4 win over the Kingston Township Legion. Barksdale went 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for Brooklyn in the contest. Brooklyn reliever Barry Jones picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Toshiro Saikawa absorbed the loss. Brooklyn, now 6-1, is setting the league on fire so far.
The game was decided with two out in the bottom of the tenth. With Brooklyn trailing 4-3, Barksdale hit a fastball from Toshiro Saikawa for a 2-run home run. Just like that, the Dodgers had a walk-off win.
"This was one of those 'not to be denied' games," said Brooklyn field general Troy Holl.
