Northern Lions BC Bang Out 12-2 Win Versus Grafton
|
The Thunder Bay Northern Lions BC defeated the Grafton Middies, 12-2. Earning player of the game honors was center fielder Chris Gregory, who went 3 for 6 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. Thunder Bay reliever Andrés Martínez picked up the win to move to 5-5. Allen Yohemas suffered the loss. Thunder Bay goes to 63-45. The win puts them 2 games up in their division.
A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. In the top of the third, with the game tied, Sean MacKnight was at the plate when Thunder Bay scored 2 on an error. The miscue enabled the Northern Lions BC to go in front, 2-0.
"We'll keep our chins up and get ready for the next game," said losing manager Bill Cefaratti.
