Behind a solid performance from first baseman John Brewer, the Thunder Bay Northern Lions BC defeated the Toledo Stingers, 6-3. Brewer went 2-4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Northern Lions BC. Brandon Bannatyne notched his 5th save in 6 chances. Thunder Bay improves to 62-42 with the win. They lead their division by 4˝ games.

Brewer came through with some timely hitting for Thunder Bay. With the score 1-0 in the top of the second and two down, Brewer hit a 1-0 fastball for a 2-run home run. It was his 9th home run of the season -- and a big reason the Northern Lions BC managed to win.

"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Brewer told the Thunder Bay Observer.
