Athletic Club KC Bang Out 7-3 Win Versus Richardson City
|
With left fielder David Henderson leading the charge, the Athletic Club KC defeated the Richardson City Thundercats, 7-3, at The Thunder Dome. Henderson was 4 for 4 with a double and 3 singles. Bill Oulton earned the win for Athletic Club KC. He lasted 6.1 innings, allowing 3 earned runs on 6 hits, while striking out 5. With the win, he raised his record to 2-3. The save went to António Uribe, his 1st this season.
In the top of the 6th, first baseman Todd Blake gave Athletic Club KC the lead when he hit a grand slam home run. The Athletic Club KC had been trailing 3-0, but the two-out home run off Richardson City pitcher Josef van der Poel changed that -- and Athletic Club KC went on to win.
"If the personal accolades come, so be it," said Blake. "I just want to win ballgames."
The Athletic Club KC, with only their 5th win in 21 games, have not had much to write home about in 2026.
