League Suspends Highlanders Valentín for Drug Violation Thursday, December 4th, 2025 Bad news for catcher Gonzalo Valentín of the Asheville Highlanders. The league commissioner's office reported he has tested positive for a performance-enhancing substance and will be given a 80-game suspension. Valentín was not available for comment. However, the Highlanders general manager said in a statemant, "Our organization fully supports our league's drug policy, and we will do all we can to help Gonzalo get his career headed back on a positive course." His all-time numbers show Valentín has compiled a .209 batting average and collected 83 hits, 4 home runs and 36 RBIs. |
