Barrage of Hits Gets Nieves PAA Award Monday, August 4th, 2025 It can be difficult for a young player to step out of the shadows and assert himself in the USPL Double A, but last week César Nieves of the Yakima Hops reminded everyone just why he's here as he threw up numbers that made him an easy selection for Player of the Week. Nieves rocked opposing pitching for a .423 average (11-for-26), 1 home run and 4 RBIs to come away with the award. Thus far this season Nieves is hitting .283 with 3 home runs, 25 RBIs and 19 runs scored. He has 56 hits in 198 at-bats and has played in 53 games. |
