López Strokes 5 Hits Tuesday, July 9th, 2024 All game long Minnesota's Ángel López was rattling the walls at Swallows Ballpark and banging out base hits against the Sun Prairie Swallows and when the dust finally settled on the diamond, he had a career day, a 5-hit day, but no victory. The Swallows defeated the Loons 12-6 to take a little of the glitter of the occasion away. Speaking with reporters after his standout performance, the 21-year-old left fielder said, "To get 5 hits and win a ballgame, that would have been a very special day. But we didn't win today. It's not easy to be happy when you lose. Only losers do that." In all, López collected 5 hits in 5 at-bats. Ángel López singled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, singled in the 6th and singled in the 8th. Presently López is batting .381 with 48 hits and 4 home runs. He has knocked in 20 runs and scored 30 times. |
