Alberink Finally Fails, Streak Ends at 24
Sunday, July 13th, 2025
The hitting streak that Bakersfield shortstop Lloyd Alberink had going was ended today by the Athletic Club KC Reserves. Alberink, who had hits in his previous 24 games, was stymied today, but the rest of his team picked him up, earning the Nobles a 11-7 victory at KC Reserve Stadium. He was hitless in 4 at-bats.

"Hitting streaks come and go. One good thing came out of it, however, it perked up my batting average a little bit, but did put a little pressure on me. It's hard to be natural at the plate with the streak always in the back of your mind. If it had to end, I'm glad it was in a win."

This year Alberink has hit 2 home runs and posted a .378 batting average.
