Kim, Lara Receive 5-Game Suspensions Wednesday, July 2nd, 2025 The action was hot and heavy at a recent Plymouth-Milton game at Plymouth Quarry in more ways than one. When tempers flared, both benches emptied and a mild melee ensued. The only thing hurt was a few players' pride. Two of the main figures in the brawl were suspended today by league officials. The Rocks Sang-yeon Kim and Milton's Juan Lara will each miss 5 games for their roles in the fight. "We do not condone this kind of behavior on the field," the league announcement read. "As such, we believe that this punishment fits the actions taken by these two players. We hope that there will not be a repeat of the incident or else the consequences will be even more severe." In the current season, Kim has put up a .252 batting average with 40 hits, 3 home runs, 16 runs batted in and scored 17 runs. This year Lara has collected no saves in no relief appearances. He has also compiled a 2-3 won-lost mark with a 6.00 ERA and fanned 31 batters in 42 innings. Opponents are hitting him at a .274 clip in 2025. |
