5-Hit Barrage by Saunders Friday, August 8th, 2025 It seemed that Salt Lake City first baseman Wayne Saunders could do no wrong today, but it still didn't come out right. The Buzz still dropped the game to the Longnecks by the score of 11-7. He did all he could, rapping out 5 hits in 6 at-bats, but in the end, Bloomington prevailed in the ballgame at Spirits Stadium. "I felt real good today, but my best just wasn't enough. We didn't play well enough to win. I saw the ball well and just wanted to make good contact and put the ball in play. The balls just fell in for base hits. Some days they do that," Saunders explained in the postgame press interview. Wayne Saunders grounded out in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 6th, hit an RBI single in the 7th, singled in the 10th and singled in the 12th.
