Fixel Stops Provo Monday, August 11th, 2025 "That's one thing that has never changed in this game -- pitching can control hitting," the 1787 BC manager told reporters after today's game. The Mango ran into a buzzsaw as Brian Fixel cut them down to size 8-0 with a 3-hit shutout. His skipper added, "He knows exactly what he's doing. He's not going to throw you a good pitch until you make him throw one." In the complete game whitewash the Delaware hurler doled out no walks and registered 5 strikeouts. In the postgame press conference his catcher said, "Brian goes out there and just goes about his business. I don't think he gets too concerned about what's going on. You can call any pitch and you know where he's going to be." Fixel also got some praise from the Provo manager. "He really kept us in check today. Everything looked to be moving. Seemed like the pitch was right down the middle and it went over down and away... we took some pathetic swings." To date this year Fixel has fashioned a 1.80 ERA over 120 innings with a 12-2 record.
