Injury Derails Season for Ray Friday, September 5th, 2025 Obviously disappointed, Brian Ray confirmed today that his season is officially over. The Oakland catcher offered mostly monosyllabic responses to reporters. "Nope," he said, when asked if he might possibly return this year. The 29-year-old Ray suffered torn ankle ligaments on 09/01/2025 and has been out of action since. Ray is hitting .214 for the season with no home runs, 5 RBIs and 7 runs scored.
