Victory Pushes Tula Record to 56-27
|
Ricco Jovine helped his team muscle past the Washington Generals, 5-3. In the game, the Chicago pinch hitter went 1 for 1 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. António Rúbio was the winning pitcher. Over 5.1 innings, he allowed 1 run on 6 hits, with 1 walk and 3 strikeouts. Eddie Schmitt closed it out for his 25th save.
Chicago took a 5-1 lead on Jovine's 1st home run of the season. The 3-run home run, which he hit off Tyrone Marone in the top of the seventh, propelled Chicago to the win.
"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," Jovine told the Chicago Citizen.
Chicago leads the Premier A by 3½ games.
