Loss Extends Athletic Club KC Losing Streak
|
Mancelona right-hander Arturo Guerrero made an effective start against the Athletic Club KC U-21 at Torch Field, leading his team to a 2-1 win. Picking up the save was Tyler Lund, his 4th. The slumping U-21 have dropped 10 in a row.
A key at-bat in the game came in the bottom of the third inning when the Torch sent teenager Todd Sentell to the plate against U-21 hurler Jesús Otero. With runners on 1st and 2nd and a whole stadium watching, the kid controlled his nerves and delivered huge, hitting a single off a 1-0 fastball to score 1.
"We put some tough at-bats on some tough pitches," said Mancelona manager Joseph Fish.
