Alameda pitcher Burm Snart did his part in helping his team beat the Gwinnett County Black Cats, 3-2. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Snart got the win, improving to 2-8. He allowed 6 hits and walked 0 over 8 innings. Snart allowed 2 earned runs. Billy Mays closed it out for his 2nd save.

In the bottom of the 8th, second baseman Mario Salazar gave Alameda the lead when he hit a 2-run triple. The Airmen had been trailing 2-1, but the two-out triple off Gwinnett County pitcher Rafael Méndez changed that -- and Alameda went on to win.

"That's the key at this level, throwing strike one," said Snart. "Successful pitchers do it."

The last-place Airmen are now 28-49, the Black Cats 40-37.
