Mancelona starter Cheh Hao pitched effectively against the Alameda Airmen at Alameda Field. The right-hander led his team to a 6-3 win. The 8th-place Torch improved to 31-43.

Also having an impact was designated hitter Yataro Matsuura, who stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the fourth for Mancelona. For the game, Matsuura was 1-3 with a double.

"I know we have our doubters," said Alameda manager Manuel Hernández. "But I still have high hopes for this team."
