Leoncio Ulibarri was superb against Alameda. Ulibarri, who is tied for 8th in the PA in wins with 6, had a change up that was virtually unhittable at times. The winning pitcher was Ulibarri, now 6-3. He tossed 8 innings of 3-hit ball, while walking 3 and fanning 9. Pete Rhue got credit for the save for South Beach. It was his 3rd of the year.

Dimian Menres broke a 2-2 tie in the bottom of the sixth with a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It put the Blaze in front, 3-2. For the game, Menres drove in one run.

In postgame remarks, Menres said: "To all who've been doubting my effort -- I hope they saw this game."
