Tula Pull Off Thrilling Win in Extras
|
Chicago overcame a superlative game from Tomás Vargas to beat Mancelona, 3-1. The Mancelona pitcher took player of the game honors in a losing cause. He threw 7 innings of 4-hit ball. The Chicago Tula have an impressive 35-16 record.
The most critical at-bat came in the top of the tenth inning. With two out, José Olvera hit a full count fastball from Tony Ruíz for a 2-run double. It put Chicago in front, 3-1.
"Whenever we hold the other team to one run," said Chicago Tula manager Pierre Muller, "I like our chances."
