The Gwinnett County Black Cats eeked out a 2-1 win versus the Mancelona Torch at Pipers Ballpark. Nobody did more than pitcher Santiago Gómez, who captured player of the game honors. Gómez, now 4-0, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 7, walking 3, and allowing 1 earned run. Héctor Salazar was called on to finish, recording his 2nd save.

Ted Tullo broke a 1-1 tie in the bottom of the seventh with a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It put the Black Cats in front, 2-1. For the game, Tullo drove in one run.

"It was a tough night at the plate," said Mancelona manager Joseph Fish.

Gwinnett County, now 27-18, holds 4th place in the Premier A.
