The South Beach Blaze racked up a win at The Ballpark on the Beach, bumping off the Mancelona Torch, 8-4. Valentín Rivera, who started for South Beach, pitched effectively for his team. It was the 10th win in 16 games this year for the defending champion Blaze, who are picking up where they left off.

Dimian Menres was a key contributor to the win for the Blaze. In the bottom of the third with one out, the light-hitting right fielder stroked a home run to left. He was 1 for 3 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once.

Menres told the South Beach Bulletin: "I don't know which I enjoy more -- being a ballplayer or the perks that come with being a ballplayer."
