The South Beach Blaze picked up a win at The Dragon Den, knocking off the Yellowknife Dragonblood, 5-4. Starting pitcher Leoncio Ulibarri, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason why. South Beach reliever Ángel Ruíz picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. Derrick Quispe took the loss. The loss drops Yellowknife to 8-5.

The most critical at-bat came in the top of the tenth inning. With no one out, Michael Lange hit a 1-1 fastball from Derrick Quispe for a run-scoring single. It put South Beach in front, 5-4.

"We had the game right there for the taking," said Yellowknife manager Dan Joseph. "But we decided not to take it."
