Yellowknife pitcher Fernando Elías did his part in helping his team beat the Gwinnett County Black Cats, 5-0. The left-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. In 8 innings, Elías surrendered 7 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 1. He allowed no runs. The Yellowknife Dragonblood, now 6-2, have been playing some good baseball.

A key at-bat in the game came in the top of the third inning when the Dragonblood sent teenager Anselmo Berneu to the plate against Black Cats hurler Eduardo Villa. With the bases loaded and a whole stadium watching, the kid controlled his nerves and delivered huge, hitting a single off a 0-2 slider to score 2.

"We had the game right there for the taking," said Gwinnett County manager Kenny Billings. "But we decided not to take it."
