"It was like I was hitting little league pitching," Gerald Kaufman said after his 5-hit performance against the Blaze. "No offense meant to South Beach, but it was like I was back in little league again. I could see the ball that well. But this wasn't a kid park, it was The Ballpark on the Beach."

The Chicago center fielder had a fantastic day at the plate, knocking out 5 hits in 7 at-bats and pacing his club to a 6-4 victory.

His manager elaborated after the game to the press, saying Kaufman spent the offseason trying to shorten his swing and stay inside the ball.

"That's what I'm trying to do," Kaufman said. "Be quick to the ball and let it travel a little farther so I get a better look at it." Gerald Kaufman doubled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, grounded out in the 7th, struck out in the 9th, singled in the 11th and singled in the 12th.
