Bulls Fall Short, 4-1, at Phoenix
|
It was a fun time at Hotspur Kiddie Complex, where the Mt. Vernon Bulls and Phoenix Hotspur U-21 tangled.
The Phoenix Hotspur U-21 went home winners at Hotspur Kiddie Complex, thanks in large part to starter José Santiago. Santiago silenced the Mt. Vernon Bulls, enabling Phoenix to grab the 4-1 win. In 8 innings, Santiago surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 9 and walking 3. He allowed 1 run.
Had Ken Gardner delivered a base hit in the top of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Gardner grounded out. The score remained 2-1, Phoenix, and the Hotspur U-21 were out of the jam.
Phoenix bumps their record to 34-62 with the win.
